On Thursday 29 May 2025, the 22nd annual MOSTY Awards ceremony took place in Kopřivnice. The awards are given by the Czech National Disability Council to support activities that significantly help to improve the position and participation of persons with disabilities, or to recognise extraordinary activity or actions aimed at assisting persons with disabilities.

As usual, one of the main partners of this year's event was ASEKOL, a company that has long supported social responsibility and equal opportunities. We greatly appreciate the long-term partnership and the opportunity to play a part in such an important event focused on inclusion and solidarity. The gala evening was held under the auspices of the Governor of the Moravian-Silesian Region Josef Bělica and the Mayor of Kopřivnice Adam Hanus. The patron of the Mosty awards was, as always, Livia Klausová.

  • The winner of category I - Public Administration Institutions - was the joint stock company České dráhy - for its long-standing work to eliminate barriers in rail transport. In 2024, 100 new barrier-free trains were put into service, to be followed by another 439 trains in 2025. České dráhy has introduced new disability symbols in timetables, as well as Braille inscriptions on trains, haptic elements and visual signals.

  • The winner of Category II - Non-State Entity - Czech Television’s Černé ovce (Black Sheep) show - for programmes focused on specific problems of people with limited mobility or orientation. Černé ovce (Black Sheep) has long drawn attention to the frequent failure to comply with valid building regulations concerning the barrier-free use of new buildings and alterations for people with disabilities and has highlighted barriers in public spaces that pose a danger to the visually impaired in particular.

  • The winner in Category III – Disability Movement Personality – was JUDr. Zdeněk Žižka - the award was given in memoriam - for his tireless lifelong work to improve the lives of people with disabilities in the Czech Republic. Dr. Žižka spent many years working for the Czech National Disability Council and dedicated much of his life to the Paraplegic Association and the Paraple Centre.

  • PPF Group won a special prize in Category IV for its humanitarian and financial assistance to people affected by flooding. PPF Group has long supported non-profit projects in the fields of culture, education, the development of civil society and scientific research in all the regions in which it operates. It provides its support internationally through its projects and foundations.

The first Special Award was given by the Czech National Disability Council to the City of Opava, for the significant and dedicated work done by the crisis staff before, during and after the devastating floods that hit the city of Opava in September 2024. And the Czech National Disability Council presented the second Special Award to the Ambulance of Hope, as it greatly appreciates the service through which the Ambulance of Hope helps people in difficult situations.

ASEKOL CEO Karel Krejsa attended the ceremony on behalf of the company, adding "We greatly appreciate our long-standing partnership with the National Disability Council and are honoured to be a part of this exceptional event and to support efforts that have a real impact.”

On behalf of ASEKOL, we are very grateful for the chance to be a part of this and support important efforts to achieve equal opportunities for all. Thank you to the National Disability Council for its extraordinary efforts over the years and all it does to uphold the interests of persons with disabilities. We would like to express our appreciation to all the projects that have long been striving to break down barriers and support people with disabilities and offer our congratulations to all the winners.
