The ASEKOL compliance scheme, as one of the competition's main partners, specialises in ensuring the efficient collection and recycling of electrical equipment, working with municipalities and collection companies to build and maintain a collection network that provides residents with an easy and safe way to dispose of their end-of-life electrical appliances.
“Our mission is to protect the environment by ensuring the collection and environmentally friendly recycling of WEEE.” Electrical and electronic equipment contains many valuable and hazardous materials that must not end up in landfills. We therefore support municipalities in the Vysočina Region to enable them to sort and recycle these materials properly,” explains ASEKOL representative Pavel Peroutka.
The results of the ASEKOL competition for 2024 were announced in 3 categories:
The winning municipalities in the ASEKOL categories received a financial award of CZK 30,000, which was personally handed over by company representative Pavel Peroutka. The festive programme also included a guided tour of the Třebíč Alternátor and a themed educational programme, informing visitors of the importance of properly sorting and recycling waste.
Why is sorting e-waste so important?
“Every kilogram of properly sorted e-waste means less raw materials extracted from nature and fewer harmful substances in the environment. The cooperation between municipalities and the ASEKOL compliance scheme is therefore an example of how sustainable development can work in practice," adds Pavel Peroutka.
On behalf of ASEKOL, we would like to congratulate all the award-winning municipalities and thank them for their efforts in sorting and recycling their e-waste.
